Eggs recalled due to salmonella. Blueberries due to E. coli. Popsicles that might contain glass. Bread that might have nails in it. 30,000 pounds of beef because Trump’s USDA failed to inspect it. I guess one way to bring down Americans’ grocery bills is to leave us with nothing safe to buy.

An emergency recall has been issued for 30,000 pounds of beef recently imported by the Trump administration.

I watched someone excitedly buy every single Garden Egg (African Eggplant) that my SCLT farmer brought today and it was just an absolutely beautiful transaction to witness. This farmer was beaming with pride at how well they did today at our cute lil market.

Also, specifically: the meat tested positive for high levels of an antibiotic that is banned for use on food producing animals in most countries, including Argentina. They're selling us beef they can't sell to their own people. This antibiotic is known for causing side effects like anemia.

My least favorite political argument is when people say they'd rather have the devil they know than the devil they don't. With McKee, we know it'll suck. With Foulkes, best case scenario: we have a great governor and RI prospers. Worst case scenario, we get the same level of suck.

Special shout out to the Little Bubblegum Romance Bookshop for the tissue paper + ribbon (This bouquet features flowers from Humble Hands Farm, an awesome certified organic farm that vends at the Sat farmers market at La Salette in Attleboro)

Prettiest view on a grey day: Thanks to @seymourfoods.bsky.social for this proof-of-delivery photo of a locally grown bouquet. Did you know Seymour, a small women-owned grocer, also delivers locally grown foods to the greater PVD area? They bring the farmers market to you! seymourfoodsne.com

Beyond a white picket fence you can see tree branches, a cardboard box abd a bouquet with a sunflower abd pink wrapping paper propped on the side of a door entry. Pink zinnias bloom in the foreground

I'm not a resident of Providence proper any more so I won't be voting in this election, but the overwhelming impression ive gotten is that David loves this city as a place people love, for all its mess and rough edges, and Brett loves the idea of this city as a business pitch, as landscaping.
