My completely uninformed and not thought through opinion on this is that it's good polls are dying. I refuse to answer them even though you all know I'm full of opinions. They somehow seem non perceptual to me and I'm sticking to it. They're against my religion

Aside from its many other problems, the idea Fauci was America's power-abusing covid dictator is somewhat complicated by the fact that he never had the power to do the things they're mad about. His recommendations bound nobody and were not particularly rigorously followed by the actual policymakers.

SCANDINAVIANS No people on earth, probably excel the Scandinavians, and scarcely any equal them, unless it may be the Swiss mountaineers, in attachment to their native country. The Scandinavian emigrant brings with him to this country, not only his love of home, but his attachments to customs and habits of his old home. So strong is this passion that it is hard for him to assimilate to the customs of his new home, and to conform to the ideas of American citizenship, but he remains in his adopted land, a foreigner, in all that pertains to his modes, manners, habits, likes and dislikes.This peculiar habit of our Scandinavian fellow citizens, and this strong, over-mastering attachment to their native land, has not been generally known and appreciated by our own citizens, "to the manor born." It will take several generations to wear away this foster land attachment, and to assimilate the Scandinavian emigrant, and absorb him into the language, habits, customs and true idea of a homogeneous American citizenship.

Authors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. There's even an “anti-Grammarly" app that leaves in typos and signs off "sent from my iPhone" to create more authenticity: www.wired.com/story/more-t...

Officers in the police dept., under Smiley’s admin., were found by civilian oversight body PERA to have assisted an ICE raid in July 2025, in violation of city ordinance & departmental policy! Yet at the debate, Smiley said a review had been conducted & found that officers had not violated policy.😪
