Why doesn't Google scholar find postprint servers? It complains about papers not being openly available when papers have been on a postprint server for more than 10 years...

To learn Claude Cowork, I created an AI agent which searches for papers using 2D models on 3D medical volumes, to see if each paper did a patient wise split (correct) or a slice/image wise split (incorrect, data leakage). The results are pretty depressing...

Dont email a professor and ask if they will hire a PhD student in 2027. I have no idea if I will have funding to hire someone a year from now. In fact very few companies know if they will hire someone a year from now.

So glad to finally share work years in the making! What started with fMRI effect size benchmarks ended up showing that conventional study planning detects ~half of expected brain effects, suggesting more distributed processes than the lit shows (+ new methods for mass univ effect/power estimation)
