spotify wrapped for UKHE - this year there were around 15k job losses in HE and also 4k courses were cut and also pay has continued to decline in real terms and you are 20 years old in pension terms because you spent a decade getting a bunch of degrees and have like 7 months of NI/USS contributions

We welcome the shift in the University’s position, and hope that their commitment to ‘fostering an inclusive, respectful and supportive community for everyone’ means that our trans colleagues’ and students’ dignity and wellbeing will be prioritised in any future policy changes. rb.gy/2s5n60

The proposed policy is abominable, and something we oppose in its entirety. The University's knee-jerk reaction has caused immense stress to trans colleagues and the University's 'apology' does not go nearly far enough in expressing a commitment to being a safe employer for Trans comrades.

Shout out to our UCU colleagues across the Midlands + the UK, esp Coventry University UCU for their Alternative Open Day this Sat (15/3/25). Coventry is just one of many UKHE institutions whose VC is pushing redundancies + reductions of terms and conditions for staff.

it just came to our attention that Edge Hill University has fired a female scholar while she was undergoing cancer treatment. We share our comrades concern that this dismissal constitutes a flagrant example of unfair and discriminatory treatment.

Greetings comrades 👋 We’re University of Warwick UCU and we’re new here. Give us a follow if you’re a member, a local union branch or an activist.
