Unpopular view perhaps (but I think I’m an early enough adopter to have some credibility) but I think it would be better for society for people whose ideologies is different from mine to build their own communities here than it is for them to marinate in Musk’s algorithmically chosen content

In the mid-20th century, auto and oil interests bought up electric streetcar systems across the US and systematically replaced them with bus routes and paved roads, funneling commuters toward private cars.

So, for all the flack Mass drivers get, I need to say we regularly had people pausing to let others make left turns or merge in, and people unfailingly stopped at crosswalks. Maybe it was people in vacation mode, but it was notably nice.
