One of my issues with The Odyssey is that it does a lot of structural work to show you that Odysseus is a cocky and playful guy but never gives Damon an opportunity to play that side of himself. He’s so dour and pleasureless. It makes the Calypso and Sirens scenes unbelievable.

The Raimi Spider-Man movies had some incredble, human moments and visuals that mimicked the 60s, Ditko-era of the comics. They were as close to perfect as superhero movies could get. The MCU Spider-Man movies have the hottest Aunt May ever put to screen.

Spider-Man 2's exploration of what it means to balance both a normal life and the extraordinary powers that come with being a superhero make it a timeless classic, anchored by some incredible performances from both its lead and villain. MCU Spidey's Aunt May is played Marisa Tomei.

Watching Oppenheimer. Just a banger

Saw a notable film reviewer who has never had a good take in their life say the premise of The Drama was so unrealistic that they walked out of the movie and I’m sorry but you just might not be built to consume entertainment

It is actually impressive how insane of a statement this is.

do you ever have strong, palpable, emotional responses to books while reading? i'll chuckle occasionally, and sometimes a suspenseful passage will have my heart racing a bit, but for example i can't say i've ever teared up or cried while reading a book

I don’t get the complaints about Tom Holland in The Odyssey at all. Mostly feels like people misunderstanding the role he’s playing

There’s a scene in this episode of House of the Dragon where 4 dragons share the screen at the same time and it is overwhelming and unpleasant

House of the Dragon is a pretty uneven show but Olivia Cooke’s facial acting while hanging out with her disgusting sons is incredible

It’ll probably get an Oscar nom for adapted screenplay. She doesn’t know shit about screenwriting. Any real writer would know that was impressive job to condense The Odyssey into a coherent screenplay that is also thematically resonant.
