My priors are that Democrats win the House and end up with 49-50 seats in the Senate, and that the 2028 nomination is going to be extremely depressing. That won't change regardless of the MI outcome, but Stevens (a cartoonishly unlikable character) winning would make optimism even harder.

i know votes are still being counted but the more i look at this michigan senate map the more it becomes clear that it kind of looks like a mitten

Excellent and worth a read by Pina as always. I think his point about White vs Brown gets to the heart of it: Put White on the Sixers and they'd undoubtedly be better. But if you were starting a team from scratch, you'd better choose Brown. Value -- and stats -- depends so much on context.

want to be clear there are absolutely big differences b/t Dems & GOP, don’t ascribe to all-the-same, and that said, it’s awfully telling how many high profile Dems now profess to prefer a Republican in office than a progressive and how that appears to be driven by who is closer to their values
