Pretty crazy how easy the switch from Jira to Linear is so far. Not one person said they'd want to stay with Jira so far, haha.

Software engineer at nutrient.io. Hi.
I feel like I use LLMs like a caveman when I look at what some people do and what systems they come up with. I usually just yell "do that thing".

The Quiet Renovation at Bitwarden - ByteHaven - Where I ramble about bytes
Back in March, I wrote about Bitwarden doubling their Premium price — and specifically how they did it. Buried in a feature announcement. Priced in fake...

> I'm figuring out that if I prevent reloads, it doesn’t reload, which is pretty good. Good job, clanker!
You really gotta keep an eye on these robots if you want anything remotely good. I complained because it added some random map to a `struct Options` which, well, was just options - not a spot for state. So it started making a method with a `static std::unordered_map` to keep the data inside..
Clankers are great. Deep in debugging a rendering issue in PDFium which would have taken me a week before to find the magic switch of what goes wrong - robot just found it. Still iterating on a fix but pinpointing issues is so good.
"Should we also refactor that API more?" > No, I don't think so; we don't want broad changes here. "I think so" > Agreed! Clankers aren't very good at pushing back.
Google must have a fun one. Lots of repositories on chromium.googlesource.com (f.e. chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src...) return "We're sorry... ... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries." for everyone right now.
Something I have to do every 3-6 weeks is merge some of our code with upstream (github.com/mhagger/git-... is great!). It's never fun. I was just bragging how good my clanker is doing at it on Slack; right as it just started modifying files and not just investigate like we did the whole time..
Being more active on random developer Discords shows you a lot about humanity. From very entitled people to very clueless people and also random ass spam.
Been playing Cairn after having a gaming slump for months and I like it a lot. Mostly. I’m ridiculously bad at it. 🫤
Reading some of the takes about Peter here and on X feels less like criticism and more like people shadowboxing their own hatred towards AI. Maybe good to remember that Peter is a real person and one that I know quite well. The criticism thrown his direction from some people is heavily misplaced.
ich bin als alter weisser mann gefestigt genug zu sagen: Star Fleet Academy is cute and good actually, fuck off with your tired gate keeping.
One thing I am always reminded that Europe does unambiguously better than the US: bread. You can find bread as good as anything in Europe in the states but it’s hard. Every country in continental Europe I’ve ever been to makes high quality bread stupidly cheap and available.
I've written up how I approach "agentic engineering" for real-world codebases & tasks. TL;DR: Treat LLMs like shitty computers you program with natural language, not chatbots you beg for code. mariozechner.at/posts/2025-0...
Taming agentic engineering - Prompts are code, .json/.md files are state
Treating LLMs as shitty general purpose computers we program with natural language. Because throwing shit at the wall wasn't working anymore.

Last month I spent 30 hours across 3 days playing Eclipse, a sci-fi larp inspired by Interstellar and Arrival. It was my first "full scale" larp, so I was anxious and excited to see if it'd live up to the hype. Not just the visual spectacle, but also the depth of role play. Here's what I found!

I confronted humanity’s place in the universe in an epic larp inspired by Interstellar and Arrival.

Nothing but love to my Giant Bomb friends. Nothing but love to everyone at Polygon. Everyone deserves better than whatever the fuck is going on right now.
Working on the iOS team at Nutrient is different from many other iOS development roles. I wrote a post about life on the iOS team at Nutrient with insights into how we work, the challenges we face, and what’s important to us.
Do if you want to, but if you think the feature sounds useful please look into the actual implementation. It is very, very privacy conscious and Apple doesn’t get any juicy information.
My dudes, turn this shit off. On iOS it's under Settings > Apps > Photos > scroll all the way down.
I had no idea that is the accepted lyrics for it in English, hah. Love it.
“Holy infant so tender and mild” will never not be funny, don’t write lyrics when you’re hungry.
I appreciate games that let me turn on invulnerability for a bit. Don’t have time to play the same segment 5 times (and I won’t get better anymore, haha). Looking at you, Alan Wake 2.
