I understand the sentiment, but foreign aid is a tiny percentage of the federal budget, and most of it goes to buy products made by Americans

We’re not “going communist or socialist.” Most of us can’t define those terms. But we are pissed about the $$ we give to countries that enjoy way more benefits than we do.

Dem voters, as far as I can tell, have two priorities: 1. Win the election 2. Fight the Trump admin as hard as possible in cases where they are worried that the two conflict, they lean towards “win” via whatever bizarre view of electability has penetrated their personal information bubble

The decisive failure of GOP referenda in Kansas Amendment 1 and Missouri Amendment 4 yesterday is yet another reminder of something I've been saying for a while: Voters, even Republican voters, now regularly despise and repudiate GOP attempts to use them to destroy democracy.

20-something years ago I read a science fiction short story set in (I think) New England; when sirens went off, people had to hide from drones operated by various enemies at war with the US. Drones attacking anything that moved, not just military targets. This is that short story, come to reality.
