really cool! Two questions: 1. How does performance scale with threads? Hmmsearch has always had an issue where performance maxes out quickly at a low n thread count 2. What do you think about the slight sensitivity gap remaining with hmmsearch? Is it meaningful? Do you think you can close it?

I'm a bit hung up on how to define "hyper-prolific authors who span MANY fields". - What is "hyper-prolific"? 400 papers? 1000? - What is a "field"? (e.g. are genomics and drug discovery different fields?) - What is MANY? - Should I ignore work by George Church? Eugene Koonin? Richard Durbin?

Trying to teach my students about robust literature sources. What are some general rules of thumb folk use? -avoid MDPI/Fronteirs -check authors have expertise in the area -avoid hyper-prolific authors who span MANY fields -check excessive # of references haven't been retracted -read!!!

I came back to the United States, hearing about a very sad news: Craig Venter passed away today. He is a pioneer, successfully sequenced the first Human genome, and tried to create Synthetic Cells. We lost a giant in Science. RIP. @jcvi.org

Even if he has to throw all 10,000 of those pitches without taking a long break? (Funny thing: you probably want him throwing at 60 or 70, so you can get lucky contact; if he starts lobbing it at 20mph, I don't think I could get it to the warning track)
