One of my ironweeds in my backyard is double my height and almost reaching the roof! 😍 It’s right near a downspout, which could be why it’s extra tall… The swallowtails are gonna flip when it’s fully bloomed!

Golden-reined Digger Wasp [Sphex habenus] ~ Photos can’t capture the full golden effect these give off. They appear very shimmery, golden, and almost look like they glow. This one was loving the mountain mint. 🥰

I thought this was an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail at first, but it’s actually a Spicebush Swallowtail! There were two different Spicebush swallowtails in the garden that day. The other one is not pictured.

2 Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterflies I saw within the last few days…the dark form is a female and the yellow is a male. (Yellow is not always male, just fyi…smaller overall size/ small or no “blue mountains” = male)
