Spent years in the video store trenches. Now I use my wisdom for trivia night. Minnesota by way of DC by way of Wichita Kansas Current Events: Future writer of “Dirty Harry Chokes On A Bagel” Currently watching thru every Looney Tunes release

Was going to go see the new restoration of AKIRA in IMAX next weekend but changed my mind when I saw the 4pm show on Friday would run me $28. Fuuuuuuck that. I can buy the bluray when it comes out in six months for that much.

Was walking past this building and through the window saw this backrooms-ass room, so I accidentally took the coolest picture ever due to the window's reflection

A backrooms-ass room with a twilight sky and trees seemingly imposed over it in a dream-like fashion (it's the reflection of the window)

Figured out my neighbor's harmonic resonance frequency and played my tuba at the precise tone required to transmute his atomic structure into that of a porpoise. Now he's flopping about on the floor making annoying porpoise noises and I am admittedly experiencing some remorse

I'm just going to say that my first boss at my current job said to me on my first day, unironically, "There's nothing that a good spreadsheet can't solve" and I knew instantly we wouldn't get along. Spreadsheet people are my worst nightmare as a comms major

It's impossible to express to someone who doesn't have children just how exasperatingly hard it is to be a good parent. It's the longest goddamn improv game ever and some days you want to jump off the stage.

Yuuuuuuup. "Don't Engage, Just Block" was a terrific ethos to have instilled early on, and when the main feed doesn't have an algorithm to promote shitty engagement, so much the better. Also why people here are unbothered by being smaller than X - most everyone here is actually real, and not a dick.

This is 100% why people who've been on X for years now get so weirdly bummed out by Bluesky or any other site. It isn't that bsky is a 'bubble', it's that being a shithead in the replies gets you an immediate nuclear-block, rather than immediately rewarded with Skinner-box treats

I love when advice for artists comes from people who clearly do not pay their own bills. "Feeling frustrated? Walk away from your desk. For at least a year. Go to Mallorca and make invisible paintings from the sea water you swim in at least 8 hours a day. You *have* to follow your passion."
