The trouble with book tour is that I can't properly promote and shout about upcoming events when I'm on airplanes and running from one location to the next. Fun fun fun. But! Come see me tomorrow night in Redmond, WA for fun, and the kind of exhaustion that comes only from too much travel.

This is what happens when you get loud and demand Dems not drop trans people. We CAN get orgs to realize this. But we can’t stop with Kaptur. She’s the worst but not the only one. There is NO acceptable anti-trans vote or statement or ad from a Democrat. None. GET LOUDER!

The Congressional Equality Caucus has released the following statement in response to our story indicating they will not back candidates who "scapegoat transgender people." Kaptur does not appear as of this morning on their endorsed list. Several who took the same vote as her still do, sadly.

I am somewhat critically low on my pain relief. I'll manage for another couple of days but after that I'm dependent on Ibuprofen. paypal dot me slash witchiebunny exists if anyone wishes to contribute to that. No pressure AT ALL. Please take care of yourselves. I have some options still!

It's amazing - for years I struggled to put my preferred design style into words to find where to purchase items I *wanted* to wear, partially because I had no idea what clothing I might truly want to wear might look like. The moment I realized I could make my own clothing...I knew. :D

translation: telling trans people 'enjoy the camps' is not an actionable form of harassment but multiple people yelling at that person for saying it constitutes harassment and they will be suspended. oh hey look at that, /accidentally/ you've created a ruling which says only the trannies get banned

For context here, a user was responding in a thread to other users (unrelated to the original post) when they used the phrase "Trans rights or Trans camps. You chose the camps and you're blaming Dems" followed by profanity.

> is this user toxic? undeniably yes.

Are they threatening trans users directly? No. Trans folks in the US have been targeted repeatedly. That's awful and you have my sympathy.

Within the context of a single post we wouldn't consider it a direct threat or targeting a protected category. Ie send trans folks to concentration camps.

More broadly, does repeatedly attacking someone in a thread count towards harassment? Yes. Harassment is brutally hard to moderate though. It's a combination of behaviour + content, and the second you publish the details of the rules, people change their behaviour to avoid enforcement.

Straight talk time: Doomerism is BORING. It's the same fantasties rehashed over and over again, just louder each time. And with each iteration it seems that new audiences are being reached, and a new group of people needs to be talked down from unnecessary fear. >>
