This family died of poverty, not fire. The article doesn’t address why a couple and their teenage kid were renting an unsafe granny flat, but we know. We urgently need high quality public homes so that people can afford to live, not more “alternative housing” as this article describes it.
💜 phonakins 🍉🌲@phonakins.com · 4d agoGiven Granny flats basically don't need specific council approval anymore in many areas, this is what simple builds with no red tape can lead Fire and Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) has revealed the Wiley Park granny flat only had one entry/exit and the windows had bars on them.

AFAIK, most retailers sold their stock of Hobbit CB boxes at MSRP and the secondary market flooded with scalped prices.
Ice says that these electric gloves are meant to "maintain compliance." Slave owners used to say the same thing about whips. If using shock collars on dogs is Animal Cruelty and Abuse, how is it fine for ICE to use Shock Gloves on people?
