I laugh every time i see this headline. Parents- look into the movie you take your kids to a tiny bit. Rotten tomatoes at bare minimum.
Outrage as parents take young kids to R-rated horror movie Buddy
A disturbing new horror film about a psychotic kids mascot has reportedly outraged some parents, who mistakenly took their children to see it.

2 days later and I’m still thinking about End of Oak Street, what its deeper meaning was, what i’d do if that ever happened (please- no portals to dinotopia), and that titanoboa in the pool.
Explained to a co-worker we weren’t doing a fall program that takes a lot of effort and costs a fair bit- for my own mental health. I love this particular program, but we already had a small staff and someone just quit and wont be replaced. She seemed sad but understood. 1/2
Penultimate semester of library school has begun! Summer, i hardly knew ye
Daaaamn. “AI is the asbestos we're shovelling into the walls of our technological society. Our descendants will spend generations digging it out again, and the longer the bubble goes on without popping, the longer it will take to repair the damage." www.thenerve.news/p/cory-docto...

Ended my shift chatting with a kid about cats. We went back and forth about Ocelots and bobcats and finally wound up watching videos of pallas cats for a few minutes. #publib
Got to buy a slew of board games for our collections & club thanks to a mini-grant, mainly from local game shops. I’m really excited to start processing and getting them on the shelf!
Ah, happiness is seeing the Liberty come back in the 4th Quarter and beat Indiana. #wnba
No regrets taking a half day today. The pug and i are sitting on the lawn, enjoying cool breezes and warm sunshine
A coworker asked his teens what he could do to make queer & trans kids feel more welcome/safe at the library. “Well, if we see someone with dyed hair we go to them”. So that same night he dyed his beard green. More of this please.
Time to fuel up before this school visit

'In the Oumi analysis, Gemini 2 provided answers that were “ungrounded” 37 percent of the time, meaning the AI Overviews cited websites that didn’t support the information they provided. But with Gemini 3, this jumped to 56 percent.' futurism.com/artificial-i...
Returning to work after a staycation feels harder to do than going back after traveling.
Staycation has been great for cinema trips- Obsession, Backrooms and I Love Boosters (which I plan to see again) were all excellent! Hoping this means a summer of good stuff!
The Backrooms memes are truly hilarious. Keep em coming.
Im glad the college students next door discovered Bruce Springsteen, but i really don’t need to hear Born To Run on repeat every damn night
I’m one of two people waiting for a movie to start (at Regal) and instead of all the ads they just keep playing spots for Regal that say “the best way to enjoy a movie is AT the movies “ and you know, it’s much nicer than the usual dumb stuff.
It’s wild to me when people say things like “AI is bad!” but when I ask them to be a bit more specific and they just stare at me. I think AI is bad for ethical and environmental reasons, and I’m down for conversations about it but patrons, you gotta bring me more than just ITS BAD
Helped run a Super Smash Bros tournament for teens and tweens today and I had no business calling those matches bur they gave me a mic so I made it up as I went!

Just saw I haven’t posted in a month. What the heck have I been doing?
In the country from which we demanded liberty, declaring a republic by the people and beholden to no rule by divine right, they can arrest a prince. In this so-called republic, now 250 years old and imploding, the president has been declared immune from prosecution. The American Revolution failed.
GAH!
Just saw a new "book" allegedly chronicling the history of goth and deathrock by one mister "Nick Razer." Heads up: it is AI slop, as are all his books, many of which are super sus. His press quotes from @thequietus.com and NME are fake. Don't fall prey this this edgelord stupidity.
Reminder to stretch before the Benito Bowl starts tonight. Nobody wants an injury from dancing.
