I got four Steve McQueen movies on Blu-ray in a set and The Magnificent Seven looks and sounds gorgeous. What a score this movie has! From soaring horns to moody little violins, it's not afraid to be grandiose.

I put on the Sam Neil Merlin mini series from 1998 and I have such a good memory of watching this with my Dad on lazy Saturday afternoon, but let's see how it holds up compared to 11 year old me's rave review.
I've been watching more older movies lately and reading a lot of Ebert reviews and after the fourth or fifth time he compared a movie to Bullit or the car chase I was like OK fine Roger I'll watch Bullit and A that's a hell of a film and B that was one of the best car chases I've ever seen.
