This! I explain multiple times a year to my students that diagnosis of a tropical or parasitic disease is the most difficult hurdle because of a lack of familiairty and expertise. Treatment is commonly cheap and effective.

This is an important point! Wealthy countries don't usually have a lot of doctors & researchers who are good at diagnosing, tracking, & treating parasite infections. Why? Treating parasites is kinda walled off into "tropical medicine" and "third-world medicine." You know, USAID stuff.
