Priorities today. Picking out dresses for the Blue and Gold Gala from Rent the Runway. I’ll spend more on a special bra to wear with this blue dress than I did on renting the dresses themselves. Can’t wait to wear these! And yes I’ll wear both and switch at event.

Since early voting for the AK primary starts today, I'll share some of the reasons why I'm voting for Tom Begich in the primary. And I'll start w/ the most personal, since everyone can look at campaign websites & materials, APOC reports, etc., but not everyone has met all 3 left-of-center candidates

Me photographed from the back (photo credit: Ida Luna) wearing light colored jeans and a yellow Tom Begich for Governor t-shirt. I also have on teal trade beads from Nenana (Lt. Gov candidate Julia Hnilicka's home community). I am standing in front of a lawn with houses in the background. New ranked choice voting: Line up AK Governor candidates at the edge of the sink hole on my road and debate. If they support tax breaks for oil, say drill baby drill, support data centers or deny climate change they just get thrown in. Good idea?

His love. For his friends, nature, Revna. I know he'll be so very much relieved to know she's in good care. His humor. I can't count how often he made me chuckle. Herring. We were this close to set up an international herring smuggling ring.

I lost another friend last night. I’ve lost 5 people close to my heart in AK since 7/4. This isn’t about me- there are so many people hurting, navigating incredible grief right now and the world just keeps worlding. Go do the things that bring you joy. Love your people and tell them. Love you ❤️

Objective: still life, an object that is meaningful. Lily of the valley from my garden, porcelain straw glass from Karlovy Vary, Czech. Very symbolic to me. This is a 16” x 20”, my first large format painting, first true still life. EeK! I did it! Learned a ton!

A watercolor painting of a sprig of lily of the valley in a white curvy porcelain cup. Background is blue green dark, flowers are whiteish bell shaped with badly painted shadows.

I’m kind of bummed that the World Cup will be over today. Despite FIFA being FIFA, I had a great time watching, Seattle, Spokane and my own living room were great venues to support the teams. The matches and stories were incredible!

How to *NOT* impress a cute hockey man from Alberta: 1. Tell him you love Winnipeg 2. Comment Wayne Gretzky makes such bad wine that all of his hockey accomplishments should be voided. Anyhoo- this is an old friend who played for the Alaska Nanooks 1997-2001. CCHA days. Good times. 🐻‍❄️💙
