Cats, plants, and artsy craftsy stuff. She/her.
Dogsitting again. The 50-pound puppy wants to be a lap dog. Or a crawl-up-behind-you-on-the -couch-until-she-half-crushes-you dog. She's very sweet.
When I dropped Oliver off at the vet yesterday (just having his glucose monitored, he came home that afternoon), there were three kittens in to be spayed whose names were Fancy, Mavis, and Hazel. Fancy, Mavis, and Hazel!
Welp, Oliver has diabetes. It is (seemingly) not as dire as it was with Tolly. I gotta give him insulin twice a day, along with his thyroid meds. He is a scraggly little 80-in-cat-years man.
So a few weeks ago I had symptoms of a heart attack (and just lay down until it went away bc haaaa), and my doctor was like "Let's assume it's GI" and prescribed me pepcid, and my psychiatrist was like "At your age your body just stops working, which is why you collapsed in a parking lot," so.
Ace update: one of his favorite toys is an overgrown yellow squash
Getting licked by a bee is strange and adorable
My dad hauled in a huge bunch of mistletoe that fell out of a tree. Drove up on the four-wheeler while I was potting some plants like "Want some mistletoe?"
Babysitting nine puppies (and three grown dogs). Get your dogs fixed, everyone! Yes, including that stray that just showed up and might already be pregnant. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOUR MALE DOG ISN'T NEUTERED. I hate it here.
Bold of any movie to assume I'm going to be able to recognize two different characters when they have the same hair
Have you, like me, spent the last 26 years worrying if the Canadian Potato Museum STILL has the display of various potato diseases with potatoes in little coffins? Stop worrying. I checked today. Still there.
My dentist's office is absolutely LITTERED with those tiny plastic Jesuses.
Gotta get blood work tomorrow. Please offer good thoughts for my cholesterol.
Birds that I've seen in the yard: rose-breasted grosbeak, cardinal, blue jay, eastern bluebird, mourning dove, red-headed woodpecker, red-bellied woodpecker (not sure about this one), brown-headed cowbird, eastern kingbird, ruby-throated hummingbird, some kind of wren?
Took a nap and dreamed I was at my childhood home, and it was pouring rain, and there was a manatee in the creek... being swiped at by a bear.
I cannot carry a conversation. My mom's at the lake this week, and on the phone all I could think to ask her was what birds she had seen (No I haven't been hyperfocusing on birds lately, why would you ask that). Also, the answer was: crows, herons, and TINY BABY DUCKS
Today I potted some basil and dill and planted celosia seedlings and marigolds in the ground, and I got all sweaty even though it was a very pleasant temperature outside, and now I need more potting soil.
I made dinner without a recipe, I feel so powerful.
I got good news: the dentist says my broken tooth is an easy fix, and it won't be terribly expensive.
Drove Mom to a doctor's appointment, and, not to give out my mom's health information, but I think we drove an hour just for the doctor to tell her not to drink carbonated beverages?
I went to a wedding by myself and didn't have a panic attack and was having a nice time in the hotel/city with my mom and the next morning my nephew did his very best to obliterate himself in a car crash.
Repotting some haworthia and aloe and have SO MANY EXTRAS. These things grow a lot of babies.
