American woman eyes wide open for 50 years. Participated in and celebrated as we gained our rights and moved toward the promise of equality in America. Grieve now for the next generation of women who will not be free. I will not do so in silence. 🇺🇸

Climate disasters don't check your political party before arriving. Cutting emergency readiness and hoping for the best isn't leadership. It's just ignoring the smoke alarm because you don't like the noise.

Missouri voters have overwhelmingly rejected Amendment 5, the GOP-backed plan to phase out the state income tax and replace it with higher sales taxes

With primaries behind us, it's now time for Dems to focus on winning in Nov. That'll involve something hard: establishment Dems will need to ask what they can learn from progressives, progressives will have to focus on what they can learn from centrists & both'll have to find ways to work together.

NEW from me: I think this is the perfect time to use Rachel Maddow’s oft-repeated phrase - ‘watch what they do- not what they say.’ Ignore Ellison's PR pitch, but look at what's happening at CBS News including directing reporters to add “facts” that did not exist. open.substack.com/pub/jennifer...

David Ellison can’t be trusted with CNN

We've already seen how Ellison has wrecked CBS. Don't fall for his PR push on CNN.

When Trump and Kushner learned mostly Blacks and Browns were dying in Blue states thinking blaming Governors would clench his re-election they threw out THEIR ONLY PLAN, MASKS FOR EVERY HOUSEHOLD instead signing an EO ordering minorities back to work and holding super spread rallies! Sacrificed!

Air quality. I grew up in the Los Angeles basin in the 70s and 80s and remember having to stay inside because the smog was so bad - Stage 2 smog alerts, they were called. Apparently they haven't had one of those since 1988. Haven't had a stage one smog alert since 2003.

Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

air travel is one of those experiences that has gotten monotonically worse over my entire lifetime

question though: has *anything* in the last 40+ years genuinely gotten *better*?

like, there's *more* stuff, sure, but is any of it *better*?
