SWE problems caused by AI I don't see talked about: 1) The sense of accomplishment is diminished. "AI wrote it" and thus I didn't. 2) No clear way to know if what I'm doing is "enough." Am I too slow? Or even too fast? No innate human limit on shipping. 1/2

I cannot resist observing that the Trump crowd have launched major American military action to retaliate for Iranian military action that did not target Americans. There is no plausible claim of self-defense, and both houses of Congress have expressly disapproved military action.

Today on “The Intelligence”: renewed Iran-US strikes threaten long-term peace, making filial piety mandatory and our Route 66 road trip reaches Oklahoma

The problem with American health care and the "cost of living" crisis in a screenshot. This is a $650/month "silver"-level ACA plan, which most Americans cannot afford to begin with. If anything goes wrong, or heaven forbid the missus gets pregnant, you are dipping into savings… you don't have.

It kinda got lost in the madness, but the federal conspiracy case against anti-ICE activists in Minnesota - the Minneapolis 15 - is a big deal It's not just the 1st Amendment abuse. It's part of their plan to crush dissent ahead of a stolen election My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/ice-...

The Minneapolis 15 ICE-protester indictments are meant to shut you up | Will Bunch

An outrageous federal conspiracy case against 15 anti-ICE protesters in Minnesota really seeks to silence all dissent.

24 years is a very long time to have accomplished as little in the Senate as John Cornyn did. He was always a loyal Republican soldier, a backbench Congressman with a nicer office and larger staff. Texas Republicans wanted financial scandal and moral depravity instead. By @sahilkapur.bsky.social

NEW: John Cornyn is undone by past Trump misgivings, after decades as a loyal party man His pro-Trump voting record is unassailable. But that’s not enough. He occasionally criticized Trump's more controversial actions when others stayed quiet. Trump never forgot. www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...

Cornyn didn't do Texas many favors, he wasn't loud nor MAGA enough for Texas. His loss is no surprise. It's a wild idea, but it would be nice to send impeached politicians to jail (or at least retirement) rather than to Washington.

The correct time for Tesla's FSD project to have adopted LIDAR was years ago or anytime before now, but the next best time would be today.

presidential pro tip: when bringing forth the evangelical christian apocalypse, you don't need a plan for the future.

Prediction: Trump wasn't kidding when he said he would be hitting Iran even harder. Expect the largest bombing campaign since Vietnam.

Happy semiannual reminder of the arbitrary nature of human time measurement to all who celebrate. 🥳

I'm so tired of winning! "jobless expansion"… "no job growth in 2025"… "we're not creating jobs"… "we've been in this for over a year now" Unemployment has continued to tick up. Oil has gone from ~$55-60/bbl to ~$90/bbl. This will raise prices of *everything* = inflation risk.

“Anthropic has much more in common with the Department of War than we have differences” is a genuinely stunning statement given current events both at home and abroad

We have not forgotten ICE murdering and overreach, the Epstein files, elimination of health care subsidies, defunding of SNAP, nor the attack on democracy that is being attempted by the SAVE act.
