Wait, my brain is working, I thought the film tariffs were towards foreign movies being imported into America like anime/kdrama, they, literally mean the movie can't be filmed outside of America, which means American productions can't film on location anymore.

If the number of ships between China and North America were to reduce by 35% as seems to be likely (unless the tariff war ends soon), then the Northern Pacific could show accelerated warming during the second half of 2025 due to aerosol reductions.

Yup. I got a call from someone who was able to spoof the number of my bank. Which is why I answered in the first place. I had just got back from a trip to Oregon and they mentioned there was a fraudulent charge and needed my card number in order to deactivate the card to send a replacement. (1/2)

You receive a call on your phone. The caller says they're from your bank and they're calling about a suspected fraudulent payment. "Oh yeah," you think. Obvious scam, right? The caller says "I'll send you an in-app notification to prove I'm calling from your bank." 🧵 1/4

I feel like we're maybe a week or two before America really starts to get hit by shortages. I'm really not sure what the world looks like in another month though it definitely won't be anything good.

I think the fundimental economics of how a lot of the open internet worked broke once Elon bought Twitter. Like things weren't great but overall the system still functioned. The overall ecosystem is getting smaller at a fairly fast pace, we're entering an era of information heat death and slop.

That xkcd comic of a stack of blocks held up by a single block. The stack is labelled "the entire manufacturing capacity of the US" and the single block is labelled like "the one Chinese company that makes the ball bearings used in every single US factory component"
