The funny(?) thing is that no matter how demonstrably pathetic the Mossad proves to be - in Iran, they worked on their covert "influence campaigns" and plot attempts for decades and they all went south in seconds - people still think it controls everything including the weather.

There's good reason to be skeptical about Trump's announcement this evening about an agreement in Gaza (for Hamas to disarm and hand over power). But this announcement probably reduces the very real risk of Israeli ground offensive in Gaza before the Oct election.

Israel is on a destructive and self-destructive spiral and it cannot break out of it without external intervention. Those who are shielding Israel from accountability form a much greater risk to the future of Jewish Israeli society (and diaspora Jews) than critics like Mamdani.

More than 800 civilians were killed on Oct 7 1200 Israeli soldiers have been killed since Netanayhu attended two funerals in total Two out of 2,000 casulties But he flew to DC for Lindsey Graham

The continuation of the genocide in Gaza does not manifest in the almost-daily killing of civilians, which while horrible is not evidence for genocide. Rather, it is Israel's refusal to allow the recovery of the most basic conditions of life, which shows the attempt to destroy an entire society. 1/

A joint statement by Israeli NGOs, Friday 24 July: ‘Urgent call to the international community to take immediate action to stop Israel's violence and prevent pogroms by settler militias and the Israeli army across the West Bank. 🧵

In recent days, violence by settler militias, enabled and supported by the Israeli army, has escalated across the West Bank, including the torching and destruction of Palestinian property, and the forced expulsion of families and communities.

Anyone using the expression "the only Jewish state" demonstrates that they fail to understand the premise of Jewish nationalism and will have to take Zionism 101 again. I don't make the rules. But I should

I think "to storm" is misleading as it implies surprise and omits the role of Israeli polic ein regulating/facilitating the visits. If you wanted to keep close to the Palestinian terminology, "invade" would be better, even if it's not literal www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...

This tweet demonstrates how easy it is talk of a hegemonic oppressive group (Jewish settlers in occupied West Bank) as if they were a vulnerable minority (akin to a diaspora Jewish community). This failure to distinguish context and its ramifications is deep rooted and deeply destructive.

British Journalist Nicole Lampert on X, criticising BBC Jeremy Bowmen for talking about the "Jewish settlements in the West Bank". "Surely he means 'Israeli Settlements'? she asks.

Given that the US and Iran are testing the breaking point of each other, and neither appears willing to climb down, this is not going to end before an escalation that would be felt globally. And I would not rule out an Iranian nuclear test in weeks.

I doubt we can stop the complete destruction of Palestinians before we name that project as such. I do not see hope to end Israel's expansionism without coming to terms with its settler colonial nature. I do not see a possibility to stop the ongoing Nakba before recognising the 1948 Nakba.

The political project of Israel's government is the elimination of Palestinians from Gaza (and eventually between the river and sea). Their actions and words all point in that direction, and that has remained unchanged. Beyond the question of how you call it, we need to recognise it for what it is.

Darin Diab is dying of cancer in Gaza. Israel will not allow her to go to the West Bank where she can get medical treatment. The Israeli supreme court declined to intervene so far. There are dozens like her. The cruelty seems to be the point.
