Surprising fact: We are actually NOT seeing more food recalls this year compared with recent years. What we’re seeing is an increase in the number of illnesses caused by contaminated food. This is the largest ever cyclospora outbreak & third-largest foodborne illness outbreak of any kind on record.

Number of food recalls by year
There have been 162 food recalls posted this year by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Agriculture.

Chart shows yearly food recall numbers from 2017 to 2026.

“But Dana, if the Dems want my vote they could just be better.” No they couldn’t, because doing good things has no bearing at all on what people say about them. Biden did progressive thing after progressive thing for four years, and the entire left ignored it and, where necessary, lied about it.

Gary, IN has been abandoned just like so many other predominantly Black cities have been when disaster strikes About 40% of the city's 67,000+ residents have been without power for over a week. No refrigeration or AC during the heat of summer - I can't see this happening in a majority white town

‘I can’t take it’: Thousands of Gary residents go over a week without power after deadly storms

Residents in Gary, Indiana and surrounding areas are struggling to stay cool, fed and connected after storms cause prolonged power outages.

Just two months ago, Xavier Becerra defeated billionaire Tom Steyer in the California gubernatorial primary despite Steyer spending $215 million of his own money to fund his campaign. I wonder if Bernie is memory holing that race because his allies at Our Revolution backed Steyer.

Bernie Sanders says he cannot recall any candidate overcoming as much opposition funding as Abdul El-Syaed.

I mean, I get it, you have heard theory summarized and think that makes you smarter than me (a person who studied political economy at a very left wing school), your brain must be positively bursting with reasons why destroying USAID and killing millions is actually fantastic.

The Ebola outbreak in the DRC is the largest in the country's history – and the outbreak continues to spread. Trump’s cuts to USAID have meant that necessary supplies and equipment aren’t getting to first responders at the scale and speed we need.

Ebola outbreak in DRC the fastest growing in the history of the virus

As the death toll rises to almost 1,500, and with a vaccine against the Bundibugyo strain potentially still months away, health workers face a battle to slow the outbreak

Just saw someone describe el Sayed's primary win as "seismic." Can someone explain to me how winning with a margin of less than a point is "seismic?" Does the meaning of words matter anymore? (Pic of Secretariat in the 1973 Belmont Stakes to illustrate what a seismic victory really looks like.)

If he doesn’t significantly improve re Black & Jewish voters he will lose. If he doesn’t humble himself & change his tune re how he’ll post memes for the future 2028 nominee & can’t pass legislation w/o the Senate, he can’t be surprised if those voters don’t see his singular seat as harm reduction.
