Saw a couple of posts from US artists saying BSky is now asking them for age verification. Please follow the link in this repost. I’m the UK we’ve had this crap going on for over a year. The methods listed here work great, it’s what I use it (no way I’m providing personal info!)

I keep seeing people thinking this is a bluesky problem. If you're seeing this it thinks you're in a state or country with age verification laws. This is what every social media site will do if KOSA and the KIDS Act succeeds. Running to another socmed won't fix it, we have to fight the source.

this is actually a good reminder that you should delete the tracking nonsense off of any url that you share online. just delete everything after the ? (including the question mark) and share like you usually would

june 20th, 2026 PLEASE NOTE: this specific journal entry may contain upsetting content. warnings for mentions of rape, pedophilia, abuse, suicide, self harm. this is a vent piece touhoufest, huh? what used to be something i really wanted to go to turned into a name uttered in an under-the-breath curse a year ago. i wanted to attend to see all of my friends gathered in one place to have fun, but even without participating it became one of the most isolating topics of my life. im really frustrated with the fact that theyre just letting a man who covered for my abuser stay on their staff. it was probably the last nail in the coffin for me staying in the touhou community as a whole. and the nightmare continues to be ongoing for the uninformed, that man's online username is spaztique. youve probably seen him around, both literally and metaphorically. he helps with walfas-related groups as well as the walfas station wagon. this is a man that devalued me into the dirt and was one of the people that introduced a bias towards me that othered me from belonging to a community. all of that has already been addressed on my bluesky. ive talked about him plenty enough, but thats not why im here typing this today. spaztique is just one of many cogs in a machine. youve probably noticed that ive become a little more averse to being social or open over the years. i talk less, freeze up in vcs, stumble over my words. the experience im going to talk about is the reason for that. the touhou community, at large, is one of the most creative spaces ive ever seen and participated in. theres fangames, fan art, fan music, cosplay, merch up the wazoo. its this dedication that inspired me to pick up a pencil and learn to draw when i was eight. i was a part of the community space for 15 years as a result of me discovering it so early from niconicodouga memes and MAD culture. it was my creative muse for the longest time. i left this space a year ago barely being able to remember any good as…
