PAF really isn't the "end all be all." In fact, I think it decreases health equity as compared to other upstream interventions and creates a self fulfilling prophecy. Turns out empowering non-ID clinicians to do PAF creates a culture of shared responsibility + expands access to ID expertise. #IDSky

🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional! ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

Can someone remind me how going through the skin twice to get 2 sets of blood cultures from two different sites is supposed to reduce contamination? Wouldn’t it increase the risk? 4 bottles from same site makes more sense and the 1st bottle serves as the “diversion”” device. #idsky
