Still a #WIP, but after a year of trying to update this random OCs design of mine, I think I'm finally getting somewhere. 😭 I'm still trying to work out what to do with her hair and the 2 million bows/frilly things I originally added...I think 75% of them are being chucked. 🤣 2026 & 2012 #art #oc

Image (art 2026): This is a slightly cropped version of an OC (original character) that I am working on, who is unnamed at the moment. Just for clarification, she was originally supposed to be a doll, so I've kept the ball-joints in for now, but I'm kinda changing my mind about that.

Anyway, this piece shows the character from the waist up (half-body), and is mostly a brown monotone piece with a bit of shading, and the character is looking towards the viewer with a somewhat neutral expression on her face (although it is still a smile I guess.)

I'm currently not sure what design aspects I am currently keeping, but for now I've redone her top to make it look more like a corset with puffy sleeves (2 puffy bits) that open up into longer material. The puffy sleeve parts also have heart-shaped motif patterns on them. The collar has a bit of frill on it, and has a heart in the middle with two bits of ribbon coming off it.

At the moment, since I didn't actually originally draw her pigtails properly (or they were too far back), I've decided to make it more obvious that she does -in fact- have them: they currently end in ringlets with either a piece of hair that curls around the main pigtail, or that might end up now being part of the ribbon. I might also make them longer. Her fringe is parted down the middle and the ends come down to her waist. I'm also still working on trying to get her hair ties to look right - originally they were large ribbons, but I've made them smaller thinner ones for now, with a bit of frill and "angel like wings" coming off the top.

She has a large eyepatch on which covers the right side of her face, it has a large ribbon in the top centre, and a heart motif over her eye.

It features an unnamed female OC, whose clothing features a lot of ribbons, and frills. She is also supposed to be a ball-joined doll. The character is drawn from around the thighs upwards, and from the bust upwards.

For the most part she is still wearing a corset type top with puffy sleeves, but is shown in the first piece that she is wearing a short skirt, with what is supposed to be shorts underneath it. There is a long ribbon that comes out from the top of her pigtails, which is supposed to go down to the floor (so she can trip over them, I dunno. It's 2012 at the moment for the description of this image. I was a kid; don't blame the child.)

Her hair still parts down the middle...except I did put ribbons on it...and really all you need to know is there's still the heart motifs everywhere, and some angel wings here and there... And of course...ribbons, and frill everywhere.

Hi #portfolioday ! My name is Butterfly, and I'm a hobbyist artist, who mostly focuses on drawing fanart for series I love (mainly video games - probably Nintendo related), with a few of my OCs visiting at times. Whilst making digital and traditional art, I also do pixel art & 3d models too. 💖

Image (Art): A piece of cross-over fanart which I did in 2024, featuring Yumetaro from the video game Gimmick! (also known as Mr. Gimmick!) by Tomomi Sakai /Sunsoft, and Kirby from the Kirby series by Hal Laboratory Inc/Nintendo. I called this piece "Star Friends" as I believe that they would actually make good friends, Kirby is on his warp star looking at Yumetaro who is waving happily from his own star; which he can create himself to ride on. The two are surrounded by stars, alongside a couple of clouds to indicate they are airborn. I kept the center background (within a circle) soft and light almost pastel-like colours (blue/purple/pink) as I wanted the main focus to be on the two characters. || Artist: yesbutterfly (Image tags, included for clarity for the subject: gimmick! , mrgimmick , yumetaro, kirby , nintendo , sunsoft , fanart digitalart )Image (Art): This is a redraw of a screenshot taken from a trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, featuring Rosalina looking back over her shoulder and glancing back at the viewer with an annoyed expression on her face, done in my style and she's actually at a slightly different angle...but whatever. The origin of the screencap comes from DiscussingFilm.net's Bluesky post. I mostly did this because I really love the lighting and wanted to do a study of it with a few additions to make it a bit more unique - like more light effects in the background. I'm happy with how it turned out, but I'm probably going to go back at some point and tweak it. I just wanted to do it quickly without much thought...and share it for Mar10 Day this year....Anyway I think that's all. I do apologize for the giant watermark, but I've been having problems with art theft because I'm an awesome artist, and modest about it too. (I'm sorry.) || Artist: yesbutterfly. So we have Lumina looking really unimpressed at the table eating...I don't know who offended her but it probably wasn't a good idea.... Anyway, I class her as an alien-sheep thing. || Artist: yesbutterflyImage (Art): This is a traditional sketch with colour added digitally, featuring the antagonist Agahnim from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I wanted to draw him looking imposing and smug, so I went with a pose for him where he has his head slightly angled upwards so you can see his full face (I'm sorry), with a sneer on his face. He also has one of his hands raised with the fingers curled in a menacing manner like he's probably giving some sort of evil monologue, or he's going to cast a spell. The piece itself mostly consists of red from the sky (and Agahnim's robes) with orange/yellow tones from the sun in the background, and I attempted to use this push myself to do a bit of dramatic lighting. He's supposed to be in a room similar to the one that he's fought in, so I included some pillars and did a pattern around the 'windows' in order to make them more interesting, and so it was obvious where the window ledge is. For the scenery outside, I just decided to keep it simple with the shape of hills & trees in the background, and the Pyramid of Power as a reference to his second fight and The Dark World... I don't know it's just supposed to look dramatic! I'll probably change a few things when I eventually get around to doing a full digital piece (and fix up a few things), but I'm happy with how it turned out! || Artist: yesbutterfly.
