Out here in the hinterlands, seeing what I see, sharing some of it with you

If I ran the Star Trek universe I would have an android character, but instead of an infallible source science and logic, it would spout AI slop, hallucinations, etc. "Captain, to save the crew we could use these horse pills - the same kind that saved earth from the 21st century vaccine pandemic"

🧵You can't talk about Natalie Harp w/o talking about how strange she is. This isn't making fun of physique or bearing. It's about obsessive/creepy behavior. And it matters on policy. As a former Republican media consultant, I can tell you that this attack is astonishingly effective w/the public...

A photo of Donald Trump sitting at a desk with national flags on it, seemingly at a meeting in an office. His omnipresent aide, Natalie Harp, is sitting behind him, staring at him with an unnatural smile, her eyes shrouded with pupils not visible.

"I am heartily tired of hearing about what Lee is going to do... Go back to your command, and try to think what WE are going to do ourselves, instead of what Lee is going to do." -- Ulysses Grant. Me, every time I hear another Centrist moaning about how MAGA morons are going to react to whatever.

imagine writing this and then still confidently depicting yourself as an expert on electability imagine being an editor or TV booker, reading these essays, and then still deciding that these are going to be the electability “experts” that you continue to platform

So... 1) Politico got audio of El-Sayed comparing a progressive primary win to putting an "ogre on a pike." Describes audio as if it refers to Stevens. 2) Stevens fans say this is offensive to Stevens. 3) In story about reax, Politico uses fuller quote, which referred to Fetterman not Stevens.

One thing about the news: a couple of people post in bad faith that and somebody is 'under fire', but millions of people understand context and it's nothing.

When I worked in WaPo Opinions in 2017-2018, senior editors specifically told junior editors not to factcheck Marc Thiessen and other MAGA columnists, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to publish anything by them at all, and “we need them for intellectual diversity.”

It’s very telling that opening your publication to MAGA “thought” requires a massive downgrade in quality control.

How sociopathic do you have to be to write about covering a mass murder and nothing goes off in your head to give you pause in making the story about your fangirl gossip. They do not see the 'little people' as humans, especially if they are little people of color

Thor Equities sounds as sociopathic and evil as just about any Private Equity company... my sympathy has its limits for a town that went ~70% for Trump, but I hope Amy Acton, Sherrod Brown, etc. in OH see this as an opportunity to engage www.wdtn.com/news/miami-v...
