Finally figured it out, I think. The No Party Limit mod doesn't have a restriction warning like it usually does during long rests for when you're crossing into Act 3. Which means, if I take 10 members into Wyrm's Crossing, it'll act like nothing's wrong, but cutscenes won't load and I'll be stuck.
Entering Act 3 with the whole attack by Githyanki guards at night is bugging like crazy and I don't wanna have to go through the list of mods I have to see which one is causing that freeze.

So, unpleasant discovery with the no party limit mod is that when you're going into Act 3, Origin characters will be prioritized over Halsin showing up alongside Tav at the top of the tower unless you dismiss nearly everyone but your main 4 squad.
