The amount of duplication that is done by AI on a daily basis is really mind boggling. People not looking up things that already exist, code that's already been written, communities they could have interacted with. It's profoundly wasteful and antisocial. It's just really such a shame.

Pretti clearly did not brandish his gun. Which means the government is saying he was killed for legally exercising his right to carry. It’s as clear-cut a violation of the Second Amendment as I can possibly imagine. And we’re about to see the bulk of the gun rights crowd defend his murder.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.

the leaders of the civil rights era could not propose or veto legislation. they had no "power." but they had legitimacy because they were out there. Letter from a Birmingham Jail was written...FROM JAIL. But with these guys "Hey it's crazy right now and we can't do much, but give us money." LOL ok.

I get that this sounds like something from sci-fi. You talk into a device and it gives you what you want. But I don't want Google digging through my photos or all my personal files just to tell me about tires. I would rather ask the people whose job is to know about tires.

I think it's a bad sign that every major news media outlet has spent days asking whether or not murder is bad and how much child porn is an okay amount
