Saw spiderman and it was good, my favorite of the tom holland movies. Absolutely the craziest theater experience I've had in like a decade, haven't seen a show that packed in forever.
Saw the odyssey: overall really good. I have some quibbles with it both in construction and interpretation (some of which come from larger gripes with Nolan in general), but overall there was enough good in there to fill a regular length movie filled out with a few less good parts.
Saw supergirl, it was fine, decent sort of summer action movie. Lobo was great fuckin loved that guy
The more I think about it the more I'm realizing Jackass 5 might wind up being my favorite movie of the year
Before pride month ends I just want to say that, no matter what atrocities our governments commit against our community, i am proud to be a trans woman. i don't wish i was cis. this life is mine. and i love it.
It's the final day of pride month. No matter what our enemies do, remember:
I passed my phd defense and now I'm literally a doctor, wild
Uh oh I started reading Ranman 1/2 and just like I suspected it would it's making me *real* emotional
(RE the military cutting down the list of recognized religions) Well I didn't expect to add religious persecution to the list of things I'd experience this year but I guess anything's possible at this point
G'day and happy pride month, lovelies 🏳️🌈 As always, proud to be a proactive safe space helping fellow LGBTQIA+ peeps survive and thrive in increasingly hostile times.
The tension of being dps sitting in queue for a random leveling dungeon at 2am with another unknown dps also queueing for that specific dungeon? That's yuri
Beat dream land 2, I'm really enjoying the kirby games though this is probably my least favorite of the three I've played so far, after adventure felt like such a step up in design and visuals this one just felt like a downgrade going back to the original gameboy
Got some kind of motivation and played through Kirby's Adventure today too, so three games completed today? Very fun game for such an early game in the series I didn't really expect to be wow'd or surprised by much but this game had some really fun set pieces! Also fun being able to copy finally!
Wound up beating sonic 3 today too (just the base game no and knuckles); was really fun, while I think 2 had better stage layouts and flow, 3 adding the different shields and having continuation between stages/acts and just a step up in graphics makes the game feel way more cohesive to me
Wanted to start playing through the mainline kirby games so booted up and played through dream land on gameboy, was pretty fun, felt weird not having the copy ability but not horrible, overall, a nice breezy adventure
Some days I love being trans Other days I'm reminded of how much of the world hates me out of principal, and I think about how many I've known that have been pushed out, and I think about how I've never had someone I can call a mentor who was also trans, and I'm filled with a deep, empty sadness
What if the reason they changed the starfox designs so much is to overshadow the fact that the only game they seemingly know how to make is 64
Credits rolled on FF3, a lot of fun, probably my least favorite of the famicom games but still good, pixel remaster kinda borked some stuff about it unfortunately but the accessibility was still appreciated
I walked into the devil wears prada 2 a moderate fan of the first one and walked out of it a much bigger fan of the original because wow the sequel showed me how bad that concept could have been
You know, maybe it would be easier for new players to get through A Realm Reborn if the FFXIV community didn't treat it like a literal chore. Like required reading, or the vegetables you have to eat before getting dessert. Maybe if we just call it good--which it is--people will actually LIKE it.
Had to give up on Ultima 3, I love most of the ideas but I just couldn't handle the combat, felt so slow and frustrating that every encounter made me want to tear my hair out; thankfully Ultima 4 is all of the good stuff of 3 but with way smoother combat and a more interesting hook!
Powered through Ultima 2 after beating Ultima 1 the other day, wow I think that might be one of the worst games I've ever played, just bafflingly bad in the realm of something like DMC2, but it's done now and onto 3!
The more I think about Ultima 1, the crazier it is to me that FF1 was just kind of a redo of the plot of that game, gather four crystals, late game sci-fi twist, travel back in time to kill a big bad causing all the problems, wild stuff
Beat the first Ultima, really fun! It's neat playing a game with a lot of the extraneous stuff stripped away and just focused really heavily on the core system. And it was cool seeing where some of the inspirations for later rpgs came from in their design.
Japanese sci-fi: two robots in space, yearning American sci-fi: man gets the author's beliefs on polygamy confirmed by the aliens of ramalama IV french sci-fi: two horny bounty hunters visit the Galaxy of Breasts British sci-fi: nuclear war. Everyone dead. America's fault
Kept seeing people doing this so I thought I'd try it too, tried to avoid doubling up but putting kotor in both slots felt right iykyk
After beating kh2 I powered through Days pretty quickly, I'll need to sit on that one for a while, love parts of it, have complicated feelings otherwise, and I know I have a lot more series to go so hard to have any coherent feelings just yet, overall impression is positive I think?
