LRP Folks, please keep the pressure on about SCREEN, KOSA, and SAVE. The very thin thread of privacy and freedom speech 100000% depend on it. If your stance continues to be "well it won't affect me," you are part of the problem and I hope your pillow is warm and disgusting on both sides.

For folks who are tongue-tied or a little intimidated by calling your reps, remember that they are supposed to work for us. Briefly outline your grievances about why SCREEN, KOSA, and SAVE are bad and then end it by threatening their jobs. These people hate having their job security threatened.

🚨 KOSA UPDATE The added "duty of care" standard would force websites to identify minors to avoid legal risk, pushing the internet toward ID checks, facial scans, mass age-gating, excessive data collection and censorship FOR EVERYONE. Next comes a full Senate vote. Contact your senators NOW. (1/2)

The Senate Commerce Committee just passed KOSA out of committee with zero debate & failed to move the SCREEN Act. punchbowl.news/article/tech...

SCREEN failed to pass out of committee, despite a 15-13 vote (in favor). Not enough members voting, but looks like a party line vote. Good work everyone! Keep up the pressure for after recess and beyond!

If SCREEN were to pass, you'd be required to scan your face and upload an ID to access this site because it allows "harmful" material. This affects you even if you don't care about sex work or porn.

Even if you do not live in California, you can submit public comment to NOAA. Please consider doing so! I spent my early childhood in this area. My grandmother lived in Capitola, and for my entire childhood, I was a member of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and spent summers there.

The Trump administration's plan for new offshore oil and gas drilling in federal waters is expected any day. If finalized, drilling could begin off the California coast next year. 📣 Take action! Contact your California representative and send your concerns to NOAA today: mbayaq.co/4fFiaV3
