There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.
Still amazing that the official government policy is universities can't do DEI except for hiring professors whose politics better align with the regime in power.
Time to add another formerly respected institution to the garbage pile, this time @aau.edu, which just worked with the Trump admin to endorse resegregation in high education, embedding MAGA fraudsters as faculty, and banning student expression. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
Absolutely galling that RFK Jr.'s attack line here is that there is not empirical evidence to support public health claims he disagrees with when a) the vast majority of public health scientists disagree w him and b) he fired scientists for that very reason. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/your-gover...
"You were scaring people. That was the job of CNN" -- RFK Jr attacks Dana Bash over her claim that the covid vaccine worked. Bash ends up telling him to stop and tries to pivot to measles.
Well, I am a scientist and I have read much of the literature. In short: multiple distinct causal hypotheses have been actively tested, using different populations, countries, study designs, vaccine formulations and exposure measures, and a link between vaccines and autism is consistently absent.
RFK Jr: Dana, you probably don't understand this because you're not a scientist BASH: Well you're not either! RFK Jr: I know you're flustered now
😳 RFK Jr's epic CNN crashout 😳 Dana Bash pressed RFK Jr on Trump's culpability for mishandling covid and the misinformation he pushes about vaccines, and the segment wound down with him getting mad and barking at her like a rabid dog Here's the full thing:

Tony Fauci happens to be my colleague at McCourt. Met him during a dean's dinner in 2023 and we connected talking about our daughters. You cannot find a more kindhearted guy. What the GOP has done to him makes my face red with rage.
Some data points on the right-wing obsession with Fauci. He was: *mentioned 687 on Fox News and 740 times on Newsmax in a four day period. *compared to Hitler and Epstein, and declared a mass murderer by multiple prominent right wing media stars who called for his imprisonment.
New, from me: It is fine to disagree with aspects of the pandemic response. But what we saw at Fauci's hearing was something different: a show trial where cranks tried to threaten and shift blame to an public servant. Here is why this is bad for all of us.🧵 donmoynihan.substack.com/p/watching-t...
The easiest possible layup for a President at war with another country would be to explain that they are attacking us. Trump won't do that because he views Minnesota as a bigger enemy than Iran.
Trump: "We heard in Minnesota there was a cyberattack and they blame it on Iran. I don't think so. I blame it on Minnesota because they're grossly incompetent. Iran's got bigger problems than worrying about Minnesota."
Like the hypocrisy and the open corruption, the naked, brazen lying is itself aspiring authoritarianism. They aren't lying to cover anything up. They're saying, "We know we're lying. You know we're lying. And we know you know we're lying. And there's nothing you can do about it."
BASH: But it peeled off. Why did that happen? BURGUM: It didn't peel off. There was vandalism. There was box cutters. There have been 7 arrests. BASH: There are photographs of people cutting a 350 foot gash in the reflecting pool? BURGUM: Dana, I'm not sure why you keep questioning it
Step 1: pay more because tariffs increase prices. Step 2: pay more to subsidize farmers who are affected by tariffs. Step 3: have farmers vote for MAGA again. Step 4: ...profit??
Hassett: "America's farmers have had some tough breaks. A bumper crop in Brazil made it so prices went down globally, disruptions in the gold made fertilizer prices go up. And it's really really important we help farmers." (Trump's tariffs are the biggest culprit but he can't acknowledge that ... )
“Trump has rejected disaster aid for Democratic-run states at the highest rate in the 47-year history of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.” Right now people in blue states are basically paying federal taxes as if they’re colonized territories of red states. www.politico.com/news/2026/03...
What a profoundly stupid thing to say. 13 billion doses administered worldwide. Extremely well-documented safety profile. Yet the MAGA base is more likely to side with the virus than the vaccine, because science is "communism."
Sen. Roger Marshall: "Who didn't have a friend who took this vaccine and had some time of complication? A stroke, a blood clot, a young man getting some type of heart inflammation. That's what destroyed the trust in the American people for our government."
Nothing could provide me more pleasure than seeing Elon Musk poor and forgotten before I die.
There's a reason Elon Musk rarely does interviews with real news outlets.
It’s the paper I wanted to call “Freedom Costs a Buck Oh Five” (I’ve shared it before but now you’re getting _lore_): how much will Americans (say they will) pay at the pump to accomplish foreign policy goals? academic.oup.com/fpa/article/...

I could do an entire thread discussing the hundreds of inaccuracies in the CDC "vaccine safety" page, but I have neither the time nor the appetite. RFK Jr. turned the CDC from a globally renowned premier public health institute into a laughingstock. www.cdc.gov/vaccine-safe...

As unpopular as the Iran war is, the coverage still doesn't do justice to the fact that they just could have not done any of this. There was literally no reason beyond general bloodthirstiness and incompetence.
Claremont has direct proximity to and influence over the government right now. The guy who led the mass deportation campaign for all of 2025 believes this shit. So yeah, this is fringe, racist, batshit nuttery. It's also a serious threat. www.thebulwark.com/p/whos-to-bl...
This is a *massive* mistake we will pay for dearly. Not to mention we effectively greenlit the nuclear program of the most repressive (alongside the DPRK) regime in the world, while we are bombing Iran to prevent it from having yellowcake. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/07...

I have read excerpts of the original 24 rhapsodies (Odyssey) in ancient Greek, as part of my schooling in Greece. I would love to see them try. The text is so difficult to pronounce, let alone digest. (And it's soooo long.)
This would very easy for him to do. But we’ll see if he actually does it.

DEI keyword search led to billions in cancelled California university grants
The Trump administration cancelled $2 billion of research grants to UC professors. Their legal team says it has proof that was unconstitutional.
