I see a lot of YouTube talking about failures to give away and sell stuff. However, buy nothing is a thing. Estate sales are a thing. And we should talk about how we can made systemic changes to make this easier. Plenty of people who can barely afford to move out of their parents home need stuff.

How much are Shakira's people paying YouTube to remind me she still exist? Like it's a lot of my feed
Idea: Cheap, durable, long lasting clothing built to last a long time by domestic union labor for people who don't give a shit about clothing. Like pay a decent wage, but automate the factory to all fuck and give zero fucks about artisan pride. Make the clothes durable cotton.
What we need is a matchmaking service for hand-me-downs, because I am ON THE PROWL
I have so much good condition, child-based *stuff* my kids have outgrown (clothes, toys, entire bedrom set) and this fucking society makes it SO FUCKING HARD for me to give these items away and basically encourages me to place it in a landfill and I fucking hate everything.
You can just rent a truck and it's pretty cheap. You can buy so many cheap weird single use tools that take up less space than a truck if you want to feel independent, useful and reliable. If you want to feel independent, useful and reliable AND have your back hurt fix the neighbor kids bikes.
I feel like the NYC grocery stores are risky but what the hell. Take the moonshot
I’ve been writing a counter narrative of shutdowns that has me revisiting media from that time. And let me tell you, the only other option was everybody die. So yeah.
it’s pretty obvious that a lot of people remember that COVID lockdowns were unpleasant and from there just extrapolate that they were therefore bad policy
Where can I meet other people that overall enjoyed COVID lock downs? Like yes I had a kid that suffered and I was the parent that was home with her and getting the emails to make her log back onto zoom. However, like it was very nice to just stay home and work from home and do stuff at home.
Who bought NEW 21" CRTs? Seriously, I only bought them second hand and I'm pretty sure everyone I knew did.
I have a lot of odd historical details rattling around my brain, and one of them I have never been able to shake was the coroner's report noting that Elvis's diet was so bad his feces had "the consistency of Georgia red clay"
Trump comparing himself to a man who would soon after die from a lethal combination of drugs and chronic constipation
Pathetic in so many ways.
Honest question, aside from Bianca Lawson…did anybody from SBTB: The New Class have any success?

How we deal with death is at least as important as how we deal with life.
I LIKE YELLING
And then they throw in some Celtic languages and yoink bits of languages from around the world along the way. The result: a language where there are usually about 10 different ways to say something, but when it comes to writing, you sit at your desk for 20 minutes trying to think of one 🤣 #amwriting
It is funny that this person thinks “immigrants defended the union while native born whites sought to destroy it in the name of slavery” is an argument against immigrants being Americans. This is precisely the point, nothing about being born here makes you better bsky.app/profile/aphc...
Another datapoint for the fascist radicalisation of institutional pillars of much of the American Right
There is a pizza hut in Queens where Woodside and Roosevelt intersect apparently.

It’s telling, I think, that Western Civilization has a long tradition of producing literature meant to warn us about how civilizations collapse, yet those currently in power who claim to love Western Civilization and it’s literature seem completely unaware of those warnings.
