In Her manufactory-organ, we toil, Her priesthood, heaving metal into the twitching jaws of endstock-mandibles. Her many eyes survey the piece from the frame and bed of Her lathing-bodies; we haul along the calcified toolhead-polyps, with their licking, assessing tongues and metal-carving radulae.

I was more thinking of programs that broke away from the standard/were cast out as 'defective' in the eyes of the Machines in order to try and reconcile that a bit, but yeah it really do just have to be hopes and dreams

Like I said, I feel like that's not really aligned with the fundamental underlying metaphor... but also yes, definitely, that is true in our hearts.

Ok but like the Merovingian has his whole subsector of the matrix with castoffs who are like vampires and ghosts and shit right? Surely there has to be a part of the matrix with femme/queer Agent-style machine programs somewhere too, right?

Apropos of a thread elsewhere: I'm aware that the Matrix has, like, *themes* and shit, that make the villains being a bunch of white men in suits the most correct possible option, but wouldn't it be better if a bunch of the Agents were hot *women* in suits?
