404 Ink

@404ink.bsky.social

Your favourite book publisher, obvs. We used to publish books. July 2016 - July 2026. We were @heathermmcd.bsky.social & @laurafjones.bsky.social www.404ink.com

What a force for good 404 Ink was, is, will continue to be! Laura and Heather have been so generous to Scotland’s literary scene - the Queer Words project, and so many other weird and wonderful treasures, simply would not have existed without their support. And what a classy exit! A rare treat!

That's our online shop now closed. 10,629 orders via our website over 10 years, all personally packed and walked/wheeled to the post office. We're gonna miss it in a weird way. What. a. ride. ✌️

The 404 Ink Bursary is such a great, positive way to wind down – just leaving a nice legacy and good vibes. Happy to say I’m mentioned here as a supporter and am donating my time to work with an up-and-coming small press. Looking forward to it!

To echo Michael, these anthologies - and Queer Words Project Scotland as a whole! - have been *the* highlight of the last decade, for me. Getting to read, publish, meet & support so many phenomenal writers has been a privilege, and being supported in turn by @404ink.bsky.social has been a dream!

Incredibly proud of these books, the work in them and the writers we backed (and didn't back!) - just looking at the writers who had their first pieces published in We Were Always Here and what they've gone on to do, I can't wait to see where Fierce Salvage goes www.404ink.com/store/p/fier...

They arrived today! Only problem now is I can't decide which to read first!

As one last hurrah for @404ink.bsky.social I preordered their final book as well as ordering several of the books they've printed that I didn't already own. Sad to see them closing when I'd only discovered them fairly recently but happy to see the mark they've left on the world.
