It’s important to view this for what it actually is: a Linehan-style attempt to make a big stooshie and have the press report this as a ‘feud’ with a much bigger, much more successful artist.

Damaging new guidance from the EHRC will shut out Trans people from daily life simply for existing, and anyone who doesn't conform to narrow ideas of how people should look could face suspicion and confrontation. We are taking a stand against this attack on human rights.

I just saw footage of Nicola Sturgeon speaking at Féile an Phobail, she was discussing the breakdown of the UK. The narrative that women are being silenced is quite far from the truth, but I can see another reason why Rowling was so desperate to fund the smearing of this longstanding arts festival.
