"people are biologically predisposed to racism because it helps keep them alive, chimpanzees kill other groups in the wild" counterpoint; bonobos have giant lesbian orgies upon encountering another group. we are more closely related to bonobos.

Or it could be that people are afraid of stuff that is different from them and it isn't a systemic operation to plant beliefs in people's minds. People can, you know, just be dumb and racist.

one thing that Democratic politicians should take note of is that the overlap between “great political optics” and “actual morally good stuff” is really big right now

Just looked at the city alderperson election in the area where I live it's an incumbent who talked about global warming, affordable housing, keeping a library open, racial justice as stuff he cares about. The challenger supports lower taxes and opposes "overdevelopment". Not sure who's better...

Annoying lefty infighting doesn’t hold a candle to the millions and millions of dollars in dark money + institutional support that right wing content creators get. This is how they pipeline. They admit this is how they pipeline. They’ve been saying this for 10+ years let’s be real

Not to be an asshole but of course Caesar never said that, why would Caesar have ever said that? It would make no sense. His family of Caesar within the Julii gens was notable but not remarkably so and it would be bizarrely self referential Also Cesare Borgia didn't singlehandedly inspire the Prince

“Aut Caesar, aut nihil” was not actually said by Caesar himself. It was the personal motto of Cesare Borgia, a ruthless Italian nobleman who inspired Machiavelli’s The Prince. en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Cesare_...

Cesare Borgia’s wikipedia.
Quotes: “Aut Caesar, aut nihil.” Either a Caesar or nothing. He had these words inscribed on his sword.
