Happy banned books week,,, plz don't just support banned books from long gone household name authors Speaking of which Lunar Boy has been banned a bunch! so give some love to the first queer indonesian graphic novel in trad pub. Especially when we're called a non-military threat back in indo now.
To expand on this: Bigotry isn't a result of an innocent misunderstanding, or not having all the facts. It's not a choice made rationally, defeated with a rational argument. Bigotry is a self-protective, foundational belief used to help make the world make sense to them. Debate won't change that.

Today would've been the sixty-fifth birthday of Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi. It tends to get swallowed up in the enormous franchise it became, but I truly believe that his original manga can provide a valuable lesson to artists about process and work and improvement over time.
Everyone is saying they want Coven Academy but Black. It Already exists. If you want Witches, Vampires, love triangles, teen melodrama, adult melodrama on the side but make it all more black and queer and by a queer black creator check out The Three Tomes on YouTube. Support indie animation 🔗⬇️
The film is written, directed, and co-stars Hitoshi Ozawa, a legendary Yakuza actor who is a villain in Yakuza 0, who got his fellow legends involved. This was his passion project inspired by one of his best friends, a trans woman, and he worked with the community for representative casting.
Justin Decloux@declouxj.bsky.social · 9mo agoTHE CLANS HEIR IS A TRANS WOMAN (2013) is like Steven Seagal decided to Write/Direct/Star in a love letter to his trans friends, but it looks and feels like every action movie he's made... except Hitoshi Ozawa is way way way way cooler than Seagal.
