Don't let copaganda fool you — police violence is not tied to their safety. In 2025, the vast majority of killings began with police responding to suspected non-violent offenses or cases where no crime was reported.
I have a new article out that I coauthored with two really thoughtful Black facilitators who support teachers in understanding racism, cultural responsivity, restorative justice in schools… their generosity, graciousness, boundaries, etc. were really noteworthy and I admire them! #edusky
NYC’s Adopted FY27 Budget Still Fails Our Public Libraries, and provides $91,132,000 less to libraries than Mayor Mamdani promised. NYC PLAN will continue pushing to see library budgets equal 0.5% of the total budget in the FY28 budget and beyond. Full response: nycplan.org/press-releas...

@mayor.nyc.gov broke his promise to allocate 0.5% of the budget when he released his preliminary budget last month. The good news? @council.nyc.gov can secure the funding our libraries so desperately need, but they need to hear from us! shorturl.at/UK71f 📸 Roxas Timmons w/Human Flower Productions

Today @nycplan.org had a rally at city hall and it's so nice to see some coverage!
As a candidate, Zohran Mamdani promised to fund the city’s three library systems at 0.5% of the city’s budget. But as mayor, his executive budget proposal coughs up just 0.42% of the budget — less than his predecessor allocated.
Turned 5 and got his first library card! He’s been using mine since birth, but I’ve held off on the kids getting their own until they were old enough to remember it being a *moment*! He is THRILLED! @bklynlibrary.bsky.social

Someone I am connected to on facebook posted a picture of themselves that was doctored heavily by AI. The number of comments saying "You look gorgeous!" is LOL. No shade to how she looks normally, but that is NOT her. She seems to think it's funny, but it is unclear if the commenters are aware?
Just got a journal rejection (fine!) from a journal after sitting with my submission for 14 months (not fine!). Absurdity.
