BREAKING: After the Washington Post fired me last year for speaking the truth in the wake of the Charlie Kirk killing, I fought back. And I'm happy to announce: I won my case against the Washington Post. They have been ordered to reinstate me immediately. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/24/b...

A tiny number of billionaire owned firms dominate our media. Murdoch’s News UK & Rothermere’s DMG Media alone control much of the news. Our system of regulation is voluntary & toothless. The media should challenge power, have a diversity of views & be independent.

Bell Ribeiro-Addy, "Is it normal that you as the BBC have done as many report as you have done, on an academic? Is that normal?" BBC Newsnight, "That's a reasonable question to ask" - then doesn't answer 🤷‍♂️

The treatment of Jason Arday was massively out of proportion to his faults. People who have committed terrible crimes have received less scrutiny, yet I don't believe anything he did or said even crossed the threshold of criminality. How many of us would have survived what he was put through? 🧵

I didn’t discuss Jason Arday on my show for this exact reason. If he had been white and behaved unprofessionally it would have been handled internally by his employers. As it is, it became clear that certain commentators wouldn’t be satisfied until he was dead www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Jason Arday: Former Cambridge university professor found dead

Jason Arday was found "unresponsive" at an address in Battersea, south London, on Friday afternoon, officials said.

Jason Arday being found dead is a horrendous way for the story to end. Elements of the press and wider media are who were relentless in their pursuit won’t stop for a moment to consider how brutal that attention was.

Cambridge University should have known better, Fleet Street should have known better, the people hungrily absorbing every bit of news about it, making newsrooms feel like they had to keep going with it as a story, should have known better, horrible horrible horrible

I don’t think there’s ever been a clearer example of the British media bullying someone, who was so clearly vulnerable, to death so shamelessly in my lifetime for engagement and clicks And now we’ll have to watch the people that did it claim they’re shocked, and horrified Revolting

Very lucky to be in the audience for a special episode of Add to Playlist, recorded in late June at V&A East museum, home of the Music is Black exhibition (which is also the truth). The music featured on the show make for very important listening. Tonight 7:15 on Radio 4 or later on BBC Sounds. 💿

Narrative is one of the things that separate us from dumber animals. Your life having a point is good. Believing things is good. The takeaway from Trumpism shouldn't be "don't have an identity." It should be "your identity is important, and should be at least in part tied to the good you do."

Some non-progressives not only don't have an alpha narrative, they are openly disdainful of the idea that we should have one at all.
