I hope cities like #Zürich who are just starting to build bikeways follow Copenhagen's lead and plan bike spaces scaled for future demand. This one gives 2/3 of the space to people riding and walking and 1/3 to drivers. There's 20 people biking or walking for each car on this bridge.

A wide concrete bridge over train tracks. On the left there is one lane in each direction for cars and trucks, then a barrier. On the right are biking lanes in each direction - both wider than either of the car lanes - and then an ample sidewalk before the far right has countless bike parking spots. Two cars are on the bridge. Roughly 40 people are walking or biking on the bridge.

Has anyone ever seen this before?? I have not! The shadow of the lit-up Prudential building antenna is visible on the clouds *above* the building! And the building lights are reflected above off the clouds too!

A tall building with half (vertically) of the windows lit up in blue, and the other half of the building lit up in red. I talked the building is a tall antenna lit up and bright white. It is night and the sky is overcast/gray. Directly above the building, on the clouds, there are four halo'd shadows of the building's lit up antenna. In the middle of a shadows is a spot of blue light next to a spot of red light, reflected off the building's lightsA tall building with half (vertically) of the windows lit up in blue, and the other half of the building lit up in red. Toronto had the worst air quality in the world yesterday 🌎 In a world where transportation accounts for the largest share of CO2 emissions, getting more people to take transit instead of driving is a climate solution. Funding transit is a climate solution!

At 1 PM the AQI was 366 , the dominant pollutant was PM2.5 and the air quality is hazardous PM2.5 = 366 or 202.32 µg/m³ PM10 = 166 or 286 µg/m³ NO₂ = 8 or 8 ppb SO₂ = 0 or 0.47 ppb O₃ = 43 or 45.76 ppb CO = 2 or 0.2 ppb

Chicago Air Quality Conditions

Welcome back to Chicago, where the busses are bunched, but at least there are busses! (Ok, tbf, where I was has busses. They look awesome! One is even named the same as me. They just don't have published routes, stops, or schedules.)

The "sewing cabinet" that belonged to my 2x Great Aunt Gert, for whom I'm named, and which I use as a dresser (removed doors so it'd fit in my space). Too wide for my current closet, but if I didn't take it when my gma died, it'd have gotten sold in the estate sale. I'd guess it's pre-1930s?

A dark wood dresser with two side-by-side drawers on top, then a pair of closed cabinet doors, and two full-width drawers underneath. It's elevated from the ground by paw-footed wooden feet. I always like thinking about: what is the oldest object you regularly use, the oldest thing you're using in your normal everyday life

Has the ORD people mover always been here? I've never a) ridden or even b) known about it?? Only on it bc Google maps said to, which I checked for blue line times. finding it was damn near impossible? I assume you can walk between all terminals, unless I've just never had to go to terminal 5??

Empty train station with signage on either side indicating upcoming terminal stops. The sign in the middle lists some airlines at terminal 5
