NEW BLOG FOR YOU Google's energy consumption numbers in their new climate report are mind-blowing. 2 years ago they flipped from linear to exponential growth, and their climate impact is blowing out, too. A WILD testament to the obscene bloat and waste of GenAI: ketanjoshi.co/2026/07/01/g...

“…there are so many ways our institutions and systems constrain, delay, complicate and stifle that action. Whilst opinion about the protest’s tactics was divided, I didn’t hear much to defend the conference’s choice of sponsor.” www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/...

After writing this I'm left wondering who Drax's board are more afraid of? Is it the activists who have disrupted previous AGMs... or the incoming visitors from the USA who have once again travelled here to hold them accountable for the impacts of their pellet mills on frontline communities?

At their past three AGMs, protestors have interrupted the opening speeches. This year, it was announced the board of Drax would not attend in person by Abi Perrin

My takeaways from this event: ❌ Prominent science leaders and institutions still lack urgency and courage in confronting the Emergencies of our times ✨ There's appetite for change - let's work together to make it loud, brave and effective More at: www.abiperrin.com/p/scientific-institutions-RS
