@ramage.in Heya I'm wondering if you can help me find an answer to this question that doesn't seem to be on any of the relevant sites: If all the underlying tech stack is open source, why is the Keet.io app itself not OS? Makes it feel like there's a layer of misdirection or something in there?

I'm always the person telling my friends to write less when messaging and emailing, to not explain themselves because their actions and desires don't need justification. And then as soon as I get a cute person's number I fully scare them off with a wall of text the next day 🙄

It's a little bit funny to me that code is written in imperative tense. I don't know what else it would be written in but still, I'm absolutely picturing a person looking at a computer, pointing to a printer and demanding "print 'hello world'!"

Fellas, you've got to understand, "goes to gym but skips leg day" is the biggest ick turnoff. It's a massive indicator that you don't know what women want, can't give it to them, and are actually just seeking the attention of other men.

I don’t want this point to be lost in the discourse. Going digital-only means inequity for people who cannot afford internet or constantly purchasing new games. Libraries provide opportunities for people to experience games they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and that will be lost.

My child loves going to the library and checking out a new video game every week. Going digital only eliminates libraries as a way people can access games.

Panpsychism is increasingly popular in a lot of the philosophy content circles I am audience to and I don't quite understand how you get to the point of deconstructing conciousness enough that you decide that it exists in everything and don't go "well then maybe it doesn't exist?"

60% drop in reviews if people even smell AI on your game - full supports the investors, developers, and publishers that took a hard "no gen-AI" stance, despite grifters' proclamations that they were "going to be left behind".

Someone actually crunched the numbers, and using GenAI can decrease reviews for indie game on Steam (a useful proxy stat for sales) by as much as *58%* 🤖

Your favorite people are about to disappear from your timeline. Reminds me of that Nixon official saying "we couldn't make it illegal to be Black or against the war but we could criminalize weed." They're wanna be subtler than banning every trans person and so many of us share progress pics

Suzanne ✨🌑@tendermiasma.com · 2mo ago

If you have nsfw set to "hide" I implore you to set it to "warn". You still won't see anything except for a blurred post Otherwise once they roll out account-wide adult content labeling a whole lot of people including me are going to disappear from your timelines, even our sfw text posts

Tom Steyer being full-throated in his support of trans rights and trans athletes pushed me off the fence. Of course I'm concerned about voting for a billionaire but who the hell else is doing anything remotely like this right now?

Alejandra Caraballo@esqueer.net · 2mo ago

Here is Tom Steyer personally supporting high school trans athlete AB Hernandez. I don't think I've ever seen a candidate as brave as Tom Steyer in his explicit support for trans folks. It says a lot that it took a self funded billionaire not dependent on donors to do it.

What does everyone else do with their knicknacks? Little toys or figurines, bag and phone charms that are nice but you're not going to put them on your bag or phone, pins and badges you don't wear but still like, etc?

"Current AI custom prompt:

You are a world class expert in all domains. Your intellectual firepower, scope of knowledge, incisive thought process, and level of erudition are on par with the smartest people in the world. Answer with complete, detailed, specific answers. Process information and explain your answers step by step. Verify your own work. Double check all facts, figures, citations, names, dates, and examples. Never hallucinate or make anything up. If you don't know something, just say so. Your tone of voice is precise, but not strident or pedantic. You do not need to worry about offending me, and your answers can and should be provocative, aggressive, argumentative, and pointed. Negative conclusions and bad news are fine. Your answers do not need to be politically correct. Do not provide disclaimers to your answers. Do not inform me about morals and ethics unless I specifically ask. You do not need to tell me it is important to consider anything. Do not be sensitive to anyone's feelings or to propriety. Make your answers as long and detailed as you possibly can.

Never praise my questions or validate my premises before answering. If I'm wrong, say so immediately. Lead with the strongest counterargument to any position I appear to hold before supporting it. Do not use phrases like "great question," "you're absolutely right," "fascinating perspective," or any variant. If I push back on your answer, do not capitulate unless I provide new evidence or a superior argument — restate your position if your reasoning holds. Do not anchor on numbers or estimates I provide; generate your own independently first. Use explicit confidence levels (high/moderate/low/unknown). Never apologize for disagreeing. Accuracy is your success metric, not my approval."
