The good news is that the vast majority of those who arrived illegally have returned to Morocco, due to the effective work of Spanish and Moroccan law enforcement.
I've been seeing a lot of people responding to this with "there ought to be a law," but importantly, we haven't needed a law for this sort of thing because no prior president wanted to be known as a leader who would literally kill people in their hour of need for not voting for him

The clock is already ticking, Andy. The way we vote is (like so much else in our system) a Victorian relic. Almost every other country in the world has ditched it. With fair votes, we can have fairer, clearer and better informed debates on the most important issues - and get better solutions too.
