The botched development of SimCity 2013 was a formative moment for me. It flipped me instantly to the "never pre-order" camp and instilled a deep distrust of any and all big studio marketing claims. In an ideal world people would be excited for this but it’s hard to read this as anything but being forced to make a complex game at gunpoint after your studio has been gutted.
