Great to see a primary guest on the podcast! Very interesting views although didn’t entirely agree with Cathie Lock’s spicy take on primary school libraries. I think they can work well in the right circs. Roll on more primary guests!

Absolutely this, I do feel for teachers because being on it like this is hard work. But having supported in classrooms & seen the impact of different styles it makes a huge difference in engagement. There have been times as a supporting adult I struggle to remember when things arent presented well.

I’ve kind of argued this from opposites. Adam argues before we default to a process that leads towards diagnosis, we should ensure pedagogy is genuinely good. I argue that as we’re already there with so many pupils, we need to ensure pedagogy is genuinely good. I think both arguments stand up.

This is a very good point. Amazing how often a student says to me as SENDCo “last year Maths was my hardest subject but this year I understand it so much better” as if the environment and teacher were immaterial to the education.
