For the first time in our research, a majority of teachers are using AI in their work - 58% say they’ve used an AI tool to help with school tasks (up from 31% last year). Those who’ve never used AI? Just 11% - more than halved from 31% in 2023 🤖

I’m off to visit a primary school and have picked three packets of biscuits that I felt would most ingratiate me with the teachers there. What three did I choose? (Extra information it was a standard co op - no fancy biscuit options but all your usual suspects)

The expectation is already there to respond to parent contact quickly - look at these results - 48hr turnaround 😳 Communication between home and school is so hard. What suits one parent won’t suit another. I’m v interested to see what goes into the gov recommendations.

Also remember that the best indicator of how you’ll commute tomorrow is how you commute today. Start the term with new habits. Fresh starts are the best time to form new habits. Especially if starting at a new school. @ianwalker.bsky.social taught me that.

As our kids go #BackToSchool, never forget that we ARE the traffic that we’re afraid of. If more kids walked, biked or rode transit to school, it would erase a massive number of car trips each day, and our kids would be safer, healthier and better at school. HT Ian Lockwood. Spread the word.

Good luck to everyone involved in results day today! In the moment, the grades can feel like A Really Big Thing, and it's true - they matter! However, they are just one set of keys, and there are many doors. Whether you're a teacher OR a student, I hope you enjoy the day!
