The usual moral “I’ll support anything as long as the rosette is red” voids in the replies to this. The reality is that Sunak did take real political damage in sacking Braverman and taking the whip from Anderson. Starmer and Burnham both useless on this.

My take is “the programme needs 7-12 year olds more than it needs 44 year old me, if I like it that’s a bonus .” Anecdote, but the Gatwa series was talked about, excitedly, in my kid’s school. And now that momentum’s gone because 2-3 years is so much longer for children.

Working in the charity sector I can tell you that EA people are a nightmare. Mainly being young men who come in to tell seasoned professionals (often female) that they‘ve been doing it wrong. Once they realise the problem is complex and will take time, they pivot to stopping the ”AI apocalypse“.

social media is not "just wanting to communicate with your friends". And Taylor knows it. This is a deliberate denial of basic reality, and a large body of science on how algorithmic social media can harm kids in particular.
