On July 22, 2011, 77 people were killed in Oslo and on the island of Utøya. People who believed in a more open, democratic world. 15 years later, we remember them not with a moment of silence, but by carrying forward what they stood for: tolerance, democracy, and love over hate.

So things are not good, but they have been much worse. 🤷♂️

If you’re tempted by a democratic socialist this year, think of what use Republicans will make of these victories, and ask whether you want to do favors for fascists.
This also applies to people who lean left and just want to doom and be depressed. If you don’t indulge them and be miserable with them you‘re “blind sheep“ Country filed with moody teenagers

Reactionary ppl dont just want the freedom to make self-sabotaging decisions (which they already have!), they want to require the rest of us to tell them how good they are & how great it is that they do that.

And I expect this is the playbook for the 2026 elections: Begin by announcing extreme "election integrity" measures and ultimately retreat to a position that seems moderate only by comparison.
low info voters are constantly being convinced that Republicans have more moderate policies (and Democrats more left wing policies) than they actually do and the mainstream media is a huge accomplice in this effort.

remember the conservative plan for schools: 1) elite secular academies for the wealthy, 2) religious instruction to brainwash the middle class and 3) a prison-like rump public school system to discipline the lower classes into mindless servitude

It's caring about who's playing and what it all means so you can talk to friends and your barber about it MLS thinks it's in the first business, not the second
